Lisette Austin is a skilled freelance writer who regularly
writes for magazines, national associations and non-profit organizations.
Her specialties include travel, parenting, multiracial identity and
families, youth in foster care, health disparities, substance abuse
research and Brazil.
Lisette's assignment topics have ranged from foreign travel
with small children to immigrant
youth in foster care. She regularly writes and speaks about multiracial
identity and the experiences of multiethnic families in
America. An avid explorer, Lisette has traveled to three continents
and across much of the United States, often writing articles along
the way.
Along
with freelancing, Lisette works part-time as a research coordinator
at the University of Washington. She lives in Seattle with her husband
and son, and owns a second home in Brazil.
The MAVIN Foundation frequently
called on Lisette to write articles for our national magazine. Her
extensive knowledge about multiethnic identity and families, backed
by her clear, sharp writing, was a huge asset to our organization. Her
professionalism, enthusiasm and respect for deadlines is refreshing – I'd
recommend her services to anyone in a heartbeat.
