Lisette
Austin is a skilled freelance writer
who regularly writes for magazines, national associations and non-profit
organizations. Her specialties include travel, parenting, multiracial
identity and families, youth in foster care, health disparities, substance
abuse research and Brazil.
Lisette's assignment topics have ranged from foreign travel
with small children to immigrant
youth in foster care. She regularly writes and speaks about multiracial
identity and the experiences of multiethnic families in
America.
An avid explorer, Lisette has traveled
to three continents and across much of the United States, often writing
articles along the way. Along
with freelancing, Lisette works part-time as a research coordinator
at the University of Washington. She lives in Seattle with her husband
and son, and owns a second home in Brazil.
